With the second stop in our journey around the beautiful Thailand we arrived at the Manathai Surin, in Phuket. After a 30 minute drive from the airport we were welcomed warmly by all the staff, offering to take our bags (full of Scarlett’s clothes). While we were showed around the hotel the concierge took our luggage to the room.
Whilst looking around the hotel we noticed that it was right opposite a lovely beach (Surin beach) which we both utilised for some extra photos later that day. The pool and sun loungers were quite hidden away to the side of the building which was nice as it seemed to be a little bit more chilled out and exclusive due to the locals and other holiday makers having the ability to enjoy the atmosphere whilst chilling with a beer in hand and no noise or hustle and bustle. Tranquil and peaceful came to mind and still do.
The service was amazing, as per usual, it must be a Thai thing as you simply cannot fault it. We arrived in our room and we were greeted with two towel folded crabs on the bed, with rose petals everywhere. Something both me and Scarlett both liked very much.
We looked around the large and spacious room which was smartly designed yet simple, it boasted a large shower, snack bar and a soft bed.
Time to chill, with a Chang (beer) in hand on our balcony looking over the beautiful pool. We couldn’t resit to take a dip later that day, a lovely relaxing atmosphere adorned the hotel.
The pool and surroundings were full of character with fancy vases and water lilies around the edge of the swimming and sunbathing area.
Once we had dried ourselves off and got out of our swimwear, our attention turned to food. We sampled the restaurants food and went for some classic Thai dishes. The staff were fantastic and waited on us hand and foot. Top class service was consistent throughout our stay at the Manathai Surin, Phuket. Breakfast was very tasty too! I had to order more as it was so good.
Chicken Pad Thai wrapped in egg omelette definitely filled me up in the morning with great flavours of Thailand.
A favourite of Scarlett and I – Chicken Satay.
I would definitely recommend a stay here, it’s very much set-up for both families and couples looking to relax. However with a quick 40 minutes drive in a taxi you can be in Patong where it is a bit more lively. So you have the best of both worlds. The hotel will be able arrange any transport that is needed in order to get you safely from point A to B and back to A. The staff are very good English speakers also if learning a bit of Thai is proving difficult.
We also visited the Bliss Beach Club which was such a beautiful place and location, the food was fantastic and very fresh, located about 10 minutes away in the car (Bangtao Beach). I also had the biggest surprise of the trip so far here too! I saw my dream motorbike, a Ducati 1199 Panigale S (I mean that or the 1299) I’m not fussy.
